Finding a place to donate the stuff you’ve decided to get rid of can be trickier than it seems. Over the last few years, many people have cleaned out, and sometimes even drastically changed their lifestyle and location. It’s great that people are making these changes, but that has left donation pipelines FULL of stuff, and without enough space or employees to manage it all.
Here’s a list of the best places I’ve found around Bozeman, Four Corners, Belgrade area to donate items like: clothes, furniture, household goods, decor, kids stuff, and most other things.
Most places in this area are for-profit, and while that may not be as feel-good to you, is still filling an important need by keeping things out of the landfill and providing affordable options for people to buy. I would strongly encourage you to donate to whichever shop is easiest for you to get to during their open donation hours.
*I’ve listed donation hours, but please be sure to visit the store’s website and/or give them a call to double-check that the hours are accurate for the day you’d like to bring your items. Often, hours can change.
**And not all stores accept all types of items, so if you’re not sure that a store will take your stuff, it’s also a good idea to call.
Bozeman
1 | Sacks Thrift Store
Sacks is one of the few nonprofit Thrift Store in the area, with proceeds benefitting programs of the Bozeman Help Center. Volunteers are essential to running the store, so if you’d like to help out, you can apply here.

Donation Hours: Tues, Thurs, and Sat. 9a-2pm. Volunteers are out front accepting donations during these times. They do close donations early if they fill up, so I recommend getting there early.

NEW LOCATION. Donations accepted daily in bins at the front of the store, but it’s best to get there early because they do stop taking donations when they are full for the day.
